Er zementierte unser Line-Up.

ATOMINATED eoinBernd: Sagt uns mal Eure Lieblingsalben!

Nate: Nun, meine fünf Favoriten sind „...And Justice For All” - Metallica, “The Sound Of Perseverance” - Death, “Rust In Peace” - Megadeth, “The Art Of Partying” - Municipal Waste and “The Years of Decay” - Overkill and “Time Is Up” - Havok.

Eoin: Meine Alben in keiner besonderen Reihenfolge: “The Great Southern Trendkill” – Pantera, “Reign in Blood” – Slayer, “Hazardous Mutation” - Municipal Waste, “Time Is Up” - Havok, “First Strike Still Deadly” - Testament, re-recording but still awesome, and “Tempo Of The Damned” – Exodus.

Bernd: Habt ihr eine gute Metal Szene in Irland, kommt man leicht an Gigs?

Nate: Es kommt drauf an, was Du magst.

ATOMINATED nate English version:

Bernd: How long does Atominated already exist?

Nate: Atominated was formed originally under the name 'Akraga' back in November 2011, the name  was changed to Atominated in early 2012,  followed by the arrival of our frontman, Eoin. Michael “Toejam” Hannon joined as the bassist in November 2012 after a serious of horribly amusing bassists...including one who took many drugs and played with a bag on his head, and couldn't actually play bass...Cormac is our newest member, having joined as the second gutarist in April 2013, He cemented our line-up.

Bernd: Why did you change your name from "Akraga" in "Atominated" ?

Eoin: We changed as we didn't feel Akraga was a suitable name for a thrash band-it didn't explain us in one word, and gave no clue as to what kind of music we played...but! On our upcoming debut album, we have an instrumental called “Siege Of Akraga”.

Bernd: Is the new recording of "World Without Flesh" done and ready for a release ?

Nate: Yes, The record was recorded and mastered over the space of 3 recording sessions at TrackMix studio by Michael Richards. We are currently waiting on the records from Slaney Records, and they will be on sale from us personally on our Facebook page. At the moment the EP is available for free download, for a limited time only from our bandcamp. http://www.facebook.com/atominated & http://atominated.bandcamp.com/album/world-without-flesh

Bernd: Which bands influenced your music?

Nate: We have many influences, in which most would not have guessed, They vary from Michael Jackson, and Red Hot Chili Peppers to stuff like Aborted, Cannibal Corpse and Dying fetus. Our main influences include thrash bands like Sepultura, Megadeth, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Havok, Heathen, Evile,Metallica, Lich King, Municpal waste and a lot more.

Eoin: Basically what Nate said. We're huge fans of thrash metal, but we have outside influences that we throw in as well. Otherwise we'd just be like any other generic thrash band.

ATOMINATED bandBernd: Tell us your favourite albums, please!

Nate: Well my 5 favourite albums include ...And Justice for All (Metallica),The Sound of Perseverance (Death), Rust In Peace (Megadeth),The Art of Partying (Municipal Waste) and The Years of Decay (Overkill)....and Time Is Up (Havok).

Eoin: My personal favorites, in no particular order: The Great Southern Trendkill (Pantera), Reign in Blood (Slayer), Hazardous Mutation (Municipal Waste), Time Is Up (Havok), First Strike Still Deadly (Testament, re-recording but still awesome) and Tempo Of The Damned (Exodus).

Bernd: Do you have a good metal scene in Ireland, is it easy to get gigs?

Nate: Hmm...Depends what you're into, Ireland consist of a lot of Death/Black metal bands, and then there is the thrash scene, which is growing rapidly! It is easy to get gigs, if you're good..  But everyone starts out somewhere...God I remember our first gig..

Eoin: I remember that, it was in a punk bar, and I'd literally joined three days earlier. It..was an experience, one I'd rather not repeat. We've also played a gig where I wore nothing but spandex hotpants, which didn't go down that well. But for the most part, we've played some awesome gigs with some great bands, and some awful ones with some..other bands...

Bernd: What are your plans for the future?

Nate: I'd love to get out of this country and hit the Thrash hotspots around the globe, like Germany, The USA, UK and places like Norway and Finland..

Eoin: What Nate said, I want to play to thrashers in the UK, and Mexico, and anywhere else, so long as I'm not stuck here! I'd love to visit the Bay Area where it all started and play some gigs there.

Bernd: Do you have some last words to the readers of CROSSFIRE?

Eoin: You guys should all go listen to the World Without Flesh record, and buy a copy when it comes out, so we can afford to bring out our album, come to your town and kick your face in!

Nate: What he said... Head to our YouTube and stream the full EP! You won't regret it! We've actually had a lot..I mean a lot..of people tell us we sound like the love child of Suicidal Tendencies and Slayer, so we must be doing something right!
